Geographer: A scientist who studies Earth's natural environment + habitat and explores how human society uses the natural environment
Join Scientist in the Crib for an adventurous and fun summer camp as a Junior Geographer! Campers explore earth’s natural environment + inhabitants while participating in fun, creative and enriching Montessori activities in our outdoor classroom, including nature walks, water activities, and day trips to Lake Johnson Slough, in our very backyard!
Summer highlights include:
Nature: day trips to Lake Johnson Slough, the outdoor classroom, nature walks, outdoor morning yoga, visits from an entomologist and naturalists to learn about creepy crawlies + butterflies, birds, ecology and many more exciting surprises!
Water Activities: daily outdoor sprinklers, daily outdoor water games (i.e. water sports + water obstacles), daily outdoor Montessori learning activities, special visits from marine biologists to learn about aquatic mammals, and much more!
Arts & Crafts: outdoor puppet shows, sculpting / pottery lessons, large bubble-making experiments, painting/chalk drawings, constructing and decorating birdhouses, traditional + cultural projects, and much more!
Gardening + Baking + Cooking Sessions: discovering the lifecycle of plants, starting a vegetable garden outside, and creating homemade pancakes, breads, low-fat ice cream, healthy fruit popsicles, vegetable delights, and much more with our Junior Geographers!
