Scientist in the Crib prides itself on providing a home-like environment for all children in the infant, toddler and early childhood programs nurturing mind, body and spirit following the 5 core principles. Our intimate environments enable our Montessori trained teachers to implement customizable curricula promoting routine, independence, and discovery; while also monitoring progress of each child.
Scientist in the Crib is licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services.

With meticulously selected materials in our warm and peaceful infant environment, our goals are to provide a safe, engaging and nurturing learning laboratory with ample love, enabling our youngest scientists to reach their key development milestones by exploration and discovery, while fostering a sense of love, belonging, trust and confidence.

16 months - 2 years
Young toddler education
By providing autonomy to the young toddler, we work in concert with the needs of the child to develop a transition plan between infant and toddler classrooms. Separation from home to classroom, toilet training, along with establishing routine are all key. The educational program includes developing independence, fostering inquisitiveness through nature, arts and sciences, sensorimotor & grossmotor skills, cultural discovery, and language under the aegis of everyday living and embracing natural surroundings.

2 - 4 years
Toddler education
In addition to the young toddler education description above, toddlers start to also focus on self-identity, the foundations of language arts, geography, mathematics, diversity and cultures, while also being encouraged to develop critical thinking and experimentation skills. Toddlers start to transition between toddler and preschool classrooms.

By providing self-teaching materials facilitating sensory experiences, along with tangible science, mathetmatics, art, music materials and physical education materials, the focus of this program is to prepare children for school and develop a life long love of learning and inquisitiveness.
